Mrs. Ruby K. Freed, 90, Attica, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8, at Covington Manor Health Center where she had resided the past two years.

  Born March 21, 1893 in Orleans, Indiana, she had lived in Attica most of her life. In November of 1917, she married Dr. James Carl Freed in Bloomington. He died July 2, 1961, after practicing medicine in Attica for several years.

  She attended Orleans schools and Indiana University and taught school in southern Indiana for several years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Attica where she had been a Sunday school teacher.

  Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Freed of Attica, former mayor of the city, Dr. Carl A. Freed of Indianapolis, and James A. Freed of Windsor, Connecticut; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Johnson of Libertyville, Illinois; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

  Services were conducted Monday at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. R. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. - s
